■Comedy duo Nishikigoi, who adore Doraemon, will appear as guests in the "Birthday Special"!
This year's birthday special is set in a "world of movies" that everyone dreams of. We present the episode "GadgetsTreasure in the Sky Castle! ~Legend of the True Hero~", where Doraemon and friends become movie heroes and heroines in a grand adventure. Following the special appearance by voice actor Kojiro Tsuda, we've confirmed that comedy duo Nishikigoi (Masashi Hasegawa and Takashi Watanabe) will also be making a guest appearance!
■This year's "Birthday Special"... features a grand adventure with Doraemon and friends in a world of movies!
This year's "Birthday Special" is the original episode "GadgetsTreasure in the Sky Castle! ~Legend of the True Hero~", revolving around the "Movie Can" Gadgets that allows you to become the protagonist of a movie and experience various adventures. Doraemon becomes a treasure hunter, Nobita becomes a sheriff in a Western film, and Shizuka becomes a spy action agent, entering the world of movies and embarking on a thrilling adventure.
But then, an unexpected change occurs in the movie world that everyone is enjoying! Can Doraemon and friends find the treasure in the "Sky Castle" and escape from the movie world!? Will a never-before-seen "mega-blockbuster" be born where heroes and heroines from different genres join forces to face a crisis!?
Hasegawa of Nishikigoi will play the villain "Doctor Peko" in the spy movie that Shizuka enters. Watanabe will voice the "bodyguard" in the historical drama world that Big G enters, crossing swords with Big G.

--Please tell us about the characters you played in the "Birthday Special"
Hasegawa Kooon ni chaa-aa! I play the villain Doctor Peko, who appears in the spy movie where Shizuka is the main character. The director told me to speak suspiciously like a boss.
Watanabe I play the role of a bodyguard in the historical drama where Big G is the main character. I thought my own voice was low, but I felt I had to play the bodyguard in an even cooler way, so I tried hard to make a cool-sounding voice.
--What was your feeling about making your guest appearance in "Doraemon" for the first time?
Hasegawa I was on cloud nine to be able to enter the world of "Doraemon" that I've been watching since I was a child! But for the dubbing, I didn't know what to do at first, and smoke came out of my ears for a moment!
Watanabe If smoke came out of your ears, it's all over (laugh)! After trying dubbing, I realized it's not just about matching the voice. If you don't move yourself along with the picture, that voice won't come out. I learned how difficult voice acting is. But I'm happy that "Doraemon" has come to recognize Nishikigoi! I also think, 'It's not a prank, is it!?' even now.
--What are the highlights of "Treasure in the Sky Castle! ~Legend of the True Hero~" that you two appeared in?
Hasegawa The Doraemon characters become the main characters in the movies. It's unbelievably interesting to the point where I even wanted that Gadgets "Movie Can"! Please be sure to watch it!
Watanabe It's a wonderful work where you feel it's like an omnibus despite being one story!
--What kind of feelings did you have when watching Doraemon as children?
Hasegawa I truly loved Doraemon so much, I bought "CoroCoro Comic" every month and collected the manga books. My "Doraemon love" was so strong that I lined up the "Doraemon" manga on my bookshelf, and for some reason, I also displayed dorayaki pastries.
Watanabe Why (laugh)!
Hasegawa When I think about it now, I realize my love was really too strong... I couldn't forgive my brother for stepping on the "Doraemon" manga I had placed on the floor, and I fought with him, saying 'Why are you stepping on it!' and got scolded by my parents.
Watanabe That's because you left it there, so you're the one at fault (laugh). But I also thought of Doraemon as my best friend during childhood. So when Doraemon was in a pinch, I tried to stop him from the TV, saying 'It's dangerous to go any further! Stop, Doraemon!'
--Are there any Gadgets you want?
Hasegawa There are many I want, but maybe the "Sharing Gum". It's a Gadgets where if a friend who ate the same gum eats an eel, you can taste the eel too. Because you can taste various things, I've always wanted it!
Watanabe Maybe the "Mochi Making Machine". I want to use the "Hobby Sunday Farming Set" to create a rice paddy in my room and make mochi! Also, I currently live with my father, and since his hobby is fishing, I'd like to use the "Indoor Fishing Pole" to let my father fish comfortably indoors. On variety show sets, the "Knockdown Device" could also be used for penalty games. (※Note: The "Knockdown Device" is not a Gadgets used for penalty games)

[Synopsis]
On Doraemon's birthday, Nobita and friends were enjoying an adventure movie where Doraemon, impersonating a legendary treasure hunter, aimed for the "Sky Castle" in search of treasure. For the birthday celebration, they borrowed the Gadgets "Movie Can" from Dorami, which allows you to become the protagonist of a movie and experience various adventures.
Wanting to experience it themselves, Nobita and friends each chose their favorite cans and entered the movie world. Nobita became a righteous sheriff in a Western film, Shizuka became a capable agent in a spy movie, Big G became a master swordsman in a historical drama, and Suneo became a hero in an SF action film, each enjoying adventures as they pleased.
But then, due to an unexpected trouble with the Movie Can, Nobita and the four of them are suddenly thrown into the movie world "Treasure in the Sky Castle!" where Doraemon is having an adventure. Moreover, it is revealed that the only way to escape this movie world is to find the treasure in the Sky Castle and finish the story! Doraemon and friends unite and head for the Sky Castle, but unexpected crises one after another...!?
